Shaylee & Daniel
This is an engagement session particularly close to our hearts. I've known Shaylee and her family since my early teens - I was her youth group leader at some point, I taught her mom and her sister flute, and her dad drove me to the chapel on my wedding day! The Pretious family have been a special part of our lives for years, and have blessed Emile and I in many ways. When Shaylee got engaged and told us there was no other photographer/videographer she'd rather have, we were thrilled! (Also, preparing to shed plenty of happy tears on their wedding day!).
Old World Charm
For their engagement shoot, Shaylee wanted something a bit different to a nature background, and really loved the architecture and old-world glamour of Church Square in the Pretoria CBD. However, with the increasing reports of crime near that area, I suggested the Wits Main Campus in Braamfontein, Johannesburg. With security controlled access, this is a safer option, but also features beautiful architecture around the Great Hall.
Love & Laughter
Shaylee has always been one to laugh easily, and Daniel matches her energy! The two of them were playful, joyful and so comfortable with each other - they made our job easy as we chatted and explored the campus. We started out with a typical Gauteng grey sky, but, near the end of the shoot, the sun made a beautiful appearance!
It was truly a special experience for us and we can't wait for their wedding at Oakfield Farm later this year!
