Dark, dramatic skies rolled in just as we started the shoot. At first, we thought, “uh-oh, this could be tricky.” But the clouds added such a magical vibe to the images and really made the greenery of the gardens pop! There’s something so moody and romantic about an overcast sky. Plus, we got the benefit of soft, diffused light as well as some relief from the heat.

The Couple: Fun, Playful, and So In Love

Our couple weren’t shy at all about showing affection (yes, please!) — whether it was a spontaneous kiss or just a loving gaze, every moment was filled with such sweet emotion. We only had provide minimal posing guidance as we explored the gardens with them.

I think one of our favourite moments was when we found a patch of beautiful yellow daisies and the couple stood amongst them against the dark grey sky! They were so comfortable in front of the camera, making our job easy and enjoyable. It’s always the best feeling to have clients who trust you to capture their love in the most authentic way.

Blandford Manor’s gardens were in full bloom, with the most vibrant green lawns and trees swaying in the breeze. There was something so refreshing about that contrast of the dramatic grey skies above. We spent some time exploring the gardens, the hidden corners of the property, and the stunning willow trees that whisper in the breeze.
