WEDDING AT LALULA LODGE: A PICTURE-PERFECT DAY IN THE HEART OF DINOKENG

A PERFECT START: MORNING PREP AT LALULA LODGE


The day began with the bridal party getting ready at LaLula Lodge itself, and we can’t think of a better spot to start the celebration. The bride, her bridesmaids, and family had their morning prep in one of the venue's spacious suites, filled with natural light and modern décor (and aircon!) that still felt cozy and welcoming. It was all about soaking up the excitement of the day ahead. 


The groom and his groomsmen were just across the way, getting ready with the usual mix of jokes, last-minute adjustments, and a few sips of Castle. It was a laid-back vibe, full of energy but without the stress that sometimes comes with wedding mornings. LaLula Lodge’s intimate yet spacious setup makes it ideal for these moments of pre-wedding calm.

CEREMONY WITH A VIEW: SAYING "I DO" IN THE BUSHVELD


The wedding ceremony was held in the most beautiful outdoor setting, with the expansive bushveld as the backdrop. The couple had envisioned a ceremony that felt connected to nature, and LaLula Lodge delivered in spades. As the guests took their seats, there was a gentle breeze in the air, and the sun shone brightly through a few light clouds that rolled in just before the ceremony started—typical of a gorgeous spring day in Gauteng.


There was something truly magical about the ceremony space: the guests were surrounded by trees, open fields, and the sounds of wildlife in the distance. Grazing animals were visible just beyond the ceremony site, adding a uniquely South African touch to the day. The couple exchanged vows under a simple yet elegant arch, and it felt like the entire world had slowed down just for them. Reverend Alice led a personal and emotional ceremony, filled with love and laughter. As the couple exchanged vows, the moments felt so genuine and heartfelt—it was impossible not to feel the emotion in the air.

PHOTO TIME: BUSHVELD BEAUTY MEETS ROMANTIC MOMENTS


After the ceremony, we headed out for a photoshoot around the LaLula Lodge grounds, which are nothing short of stunning.


This couple and their bridal party was so fun and easy to work with—it made for such an enjoyable shoot. We explored a few of the picturesque spots around the lodge, including some gorgeous open fields and areas surrounded by flowering trees. It wasn’t just about the stunning backdrop, though—it was about capturing their personalities. From playful moments to quiet, intimate exchanges, we made sure to get a variety of shots that told the full story of their day.


The light during our photoshoot was absolutely magical. As we moved into the late afternoon, the clouds rolled in just enough to soften the sunlight and give everything a dreamy, almost ethereal glow. There’s something so special about the natural lighting in the bushveld, especially in the late afternoon, and we made the most of every moment.

After all the formalities and photo fun, it was time for the reception. LaLula Lodge offers a spacious indoor venue for receptions, and it was the perfect setting for this couple’s celebration. The décor was a beautiful blend of rustic elegance with a nod to nature—Wooden tables, soft candlelight, and lush greenery set the tone for a romantic and relaxed evening. The florals were absolutely stunning, with soft yellow blooms and greenery that looked like they were plucked straight from the surrounding bushveld.
