An Intimate Wedding at Grin Court Wedding Venue
Maybe it’s the sunshine, maybe it’s the bushveld, or maybe it’s the people—but this wedding at Grin Court Wedding Venue was everything we love about photographing weddings in the bush.
From the very start of the morning, there was a sense of calm excitement. The couple got ready at Grin Court itself, which made the whole day feel seamless and stress-free (and easy to move from one location to the other!). Hair and makeup were beautifully done by the talented Rica du Plessis, all the way from Pretoria (who did my own wedding makeup 3 or so years ago) she brought such a soft, glowing look and Hollywood waves that perfectly suited our bride Janika's elegant aesthetic. While the ladies got ready, Ruan and his groomsmen enjoyed some brandy near the sparkling pool while checking the rugby score! And let’s just take a moment to appreciate the stunning florals and décor by Anrule Décor, a Polokwane-based gem who absolutely nailed the warm, earthy palette. Pampas grass, peaches, muted reds—everything tied together so effortlessly. Big shoutout as well to Grin Court for not only providing such a gorgeous backdrop but also serving up the most delicious food during the reception. The team there knows how to make a wedding feel so well put together.
The ceremony itself took place in Grin Court’s gardens, under that golden winter sun. It was one of those wonderful warm Limpopo winter days- sunny and mild. The vows were exchanged under the beautiful thorn trees with just 40 of their family and friends looking on.
After the “I do’s,” we headed into the fields surrounding Grin Court. This is one of my favourite things about being a Polokwane wedding photographer; you get those dreamy bushveld views that are so uniquely Limpopo and so uniquely South African. We wandered through beautiful green grass, with the late-afternoon light catching every detail, and honestly, it felt like we had stepped into a painting. The couple was so natural in front of the camera, laughing together, stealing quiet little moments, and just being themselves and it made capturing their love story an absolute joy.
The reception was hosted inside Grin Court’s restaurant, which kept that same cozy, elegant feel. The warm tones carried through into the table décor, and with fairy lights twinkling above, the space felt romantic without being overdone. Speeches were heartfelt, the dance floor was full, and you could tell their guests weren’t just there to celebrate a wedding—they were there to celebrate two people they genuinely adore.
As someone who specialises in Polokwane wedding photography and videography, we can honestly say that the magic isn’t just in the location, it’s in how the venue complements the personalities of the people getting married. Grin Court was the perfect backdrop for this intimate celebration and down-to-earth couple: grounded in nature, warm in atmosphere, and filled with little spaces that made the day feel personal.
To the amazing vendors who made this day possible—thank you!
