A Joyful Autumn Wedding at Rosemary Hill: Caitlin & Jordan’s Beautiful May Celebration
Some wedding days are full of rushing, last-minute changes and unexpected little dramas. And then there are wedding days like Caitlin and Jordan’s, calm, joyful, beautifully relaxed, and filled from beginning to end with the people they love most.
Their mid-May wedding at Rosemary Hill was one of those absolutely perfect autumn days. The sun was warm, the sky was clear, and there was just enough of that golden autumn glow to make the entire farm feel even more magical. Exactly the kind of day we envisioned for our own May wedding in 2022 (it rained, lol)
Two Different Personalities, One Very Fun Love Story
If you met Caitlin and Jordan separately, you might think they were complete opposites. Caitlin is quiet and reserved, while Jordan is chatty, outgoing and brings plenty of big personality to the table. But beneath those differences, these two have plenty in common. They are both adventurous, active and fit, and after nearly a decade together, their easy connection and comfort with one another was impossible to miss.
More than anything, though, it was clear that these two are surrounded by an incredibly close social circle. Their friends and family weren’t simply guests who arrived for the ceremony and left after dessert, they were truly part of the celebration. From the beginning of the day to the vibes on the dance floor, there was such a strong sense of friendship and community around Caitlin and Jordan.
A Beautiful Autumn Wedding at Rosemary Hill
For couples looking for a wedding venue near Pretoria that combines beautiful natural surroundings with a variety of spaces, Rosemary Hill offers a versatile setting. Located on the eastern outskirts of Pretoria, the farm combines countryside scenery with wedding venues including the Living Chapel and The Distillery.
Caitlin and Jordan exchanged their vows in the chapel, surrounded by the people who have loved and supported them throughout their relationship. The ceremony was followed by a celebration at The Distillery, where their beautiful green, black and white décor created a striking look against the venue. The Distillery has a contemporary, industrial feel, with high ceilings and plenty of space for a lively celebration, which turned out to be exactly what this particular crowd needed!
And while autumn weddings can sometimes mean jackets, chilly fingers and a nervous eye on the weather forecast, Caitlin and Jordan were blessed with the most beautiful warm and sunny day. It was the kind of weather that makes an outdoor autumn wedding photo shoot an absolute dream.
A Golden Hour to Remember
As photographers, there is nothing quite like a beautiful golden hour, especially when you have a couple who are relaxed, and up for making the most of it.
We headed out with Caitlin and Jordan as the afternoon sun softened, and the farm gave us that warm, glowing light that photographers spend entire wedding seasons hoping for. Caitlin and Jordan made it easy. Their connection felt completely natural, and the peacefulness of the day carried straight through into their couple shoot. Of course, we always give our couples some gentle direction, but we also love leaving space for the real moments to happen like the laughs, conversations, little looks and moments that are completely their own. And with the autumn sunshine pouring through the farm, these two were absolutely glowing.
And Then Came the Party
As the sun disappeared and the evening settled in, the celebration moved back to The Distillery, and let’s just say the party did not disappoint. With their closest friends and family gathered together, the energy shifted from calm and romantic to full-on celebration. The reception was everything a wedding party should be: joyful, loud, energetic and filled with people who were clearly very excited to celebrate these two. The fairy lights added the most beautiful atmosphere as the evening continued, and watching the reception come alive under their glow was such a special way to end the day. There was no stress. Nothing went wrong. No big drama to work around. Just Caitlin and Jordan, surrounded by the people they love, celebrating the fact that after nearly a decade together, they were finally married.
A Day That Felt Exactly Like Them
Caitlin and Jordan’s Rosemary Hill wedding was beautiful, of course. The décor was stunning, the weather was perfect and golden hour showed off for us in the best possible way. But the thing we’ll remember most is the feeling of the day. It was calm. It was joyful, and it was full of friends and family.
It was a beautiful reminder that a wedding is about so much more than the flowers, the colour palette or the perfect timeline. It is about bringing together all the people who have been part of your story and celebrating the next chapter together.
Caitlin and Jordan, thank you for trusting us to capture such a special day.
We hope you love these memories for many, many years to come!
