An Emotion-Filled, Stylish Wedding at Rosemary Hill
Late summer light, personal vows, and a ceiling of fairy lights—this one was something special.
Some weddings just hit differently—and this wedding at Rosemary Hill was exactly that. Romantic, relaxed, and beautifully emotional, it felt like stepping into a soft love song with golden fields, happy tears, and a party that kept everyone smiling into the night.
Nestled just outside Pretoria, Rosemary Hill is a firm favourite for us Pretoria wedding photographers. It’s the kind of venue that has it all: endless fields, lush gardens, quirky architecture, and that signature blend of rustic elegance. Every time we shoot here, we find a new little corner that takes our breath away—and this day was no exception.
But before we get to the dreamy details, a quick shoutout to the incredible vendors who brought the magic to life:
🌿 Flowers by Wilde Bloem (those white florals? Perfection.)
💄 Hair & Makeup by Makeup by Tamaryn—flawless, as always
📋 Planning by the amazing Rosemary Hill team—smooth and stress-free from start to finish
📍Venue: Rosemary Hill, obviously!
Let’s Talk About the Day
Prep started on-site at Rosemary Hill, with that calm, excited energy buzzing in the air. The weather was absolute bliss—a warm, late summer day that held just enough breeze to rustle the trees and keep everyone glowing instead of melting. (A small but crucial detail when you're dealing with wedding makeup and fitted suits, right?)
The ceremony took place in the Living Chapel, one of Rosemary Hill’s most iconic features. Built from living greenery and shaped into an open-air sanctuary, it’s the kind of place that makes you pause. The bride walked in beaming, the groom wiped away a tear (okay, more than one) and they both shared heartfelt vows that left barely a dry eye in the front row.
A fur-baby
Alex and Hein knew their day wouldn't be complete without their adorable fur-baby, Sasko. Adorned in the cutest flower crown by Wilde Bloem, he could not be more excited to witness his mom and dad's special day!
Portraits with a View
After the ceremony, we headed to the open fields and the camber bridge for portraits—and this is where Rosemary Hill really flexes its beauty. The golden grass swaying in the breeze, the soft light filtering through the trees, and that iconic arched bridge gave us everything we needed for romantic, timeless photos.
As a South African wedding photographer, we live for these quiet moments. You know, when the couple finally exhales, laughs a little louder, and lets it all sink in. We caught all of that and more.
Party Time at the Distillery
And then… the real fun began.
The reception at Rosemary Hill’s Distillery was a vibe. Picture a ceiling draped in fairy lights, long tables lined with candles and soft white florals, and a neon sign glowing with the couple’s surname. Oh—and a champagne tower sparkling under the lights, ready for its close-up.
Guests were welcomed with live saxophone music during canapés (yes, it was just as smooth and cool as it sounds), and the energy only got better from there.
The bride and groom performed their beautifully choreographed first dance, which was a total showstopper. Elegant, playful, and so them—it had the whole room cheering. The reception flowed beautifully, with just the right mix of heartfelt speeches and full-on dance floor chaos (the best kind).
Thinking About Your Own Wedding at Rosemary Hill?
