Golden Hour Couple Session

When Britney reached out to me for a couple session on the beach near Hartenbos over December, I was immediately excited! Coming from Gauteng, we have so few opportunities to shoot on the beach, and Gauteng was having the rainiest December we'd ever experienced. We couldn't wait to see some sun and a proper golden hour.

 

 

Dana Bay, Mossel Bay

As most South Africans know, Hartenbos is jam-packed with holidayers in December, and the beaches are more people than sand! Luckily, we have friends who live in the area, and they recommended we head out to Dana Bay (about 35 mins from Hartenbos), as the beach there has beautiful sunsets and would be a little quieter. Their suggestion turned out to be perfect, and the beach was calm and the sunset absolutely dazzling. We connected instantly with Thys and Britney and their natural affection and comfort with each other came through as they frolicked through the (very cold) sea. As a Gauteng photographer, this session really got the creative juices flowing as we were inspired by the beautiful light and fresh scenery of the Western Cape. Thys and Britney ended up booking us for their wedding later this year, and we couldn't be more excited to work with this lovely couple again!
